11 things

What are 11 things your life doesn’t need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life? (Author: Sam Davidson)

The unnecessary….and my plan of dismantlement

1. perfectionism

Honor the imperfect, especially in myself

2.  debt

Live off of $11,000 in 2011 and pay off 75-100% of my school loans by Feb 2012. And cultivate an abundance mentality while doing so!

3. being busy

Release the need to do something at all times in order to feel okay.

4. self-criticism

Shout “DELETE!!” whenever a negative thought crosses my mind.

5. email excess

Check email once a day.  No more than 30 minutes!

6. oversensitivity

It’s never about you (or me) anyway!

7. expectations

Live in the moment.  See what unfolds.  Be open and honest along the way.

8. gossip

Don’t speak about anyone who’s not present.  Leave when the breakroom becomes the gossip shop.

9. rushing

Imagine actually showing up *early* to something for a change…

10. multitasking

Go with the flow (not the to-do-list).  Or as Leo Babauta says “be like water.”

11. indecisiveness

Meditate!

Removing these things will increase my ability to be present with the world, compassionate with others, and kind to myself and overall be more aligned with Divinity.
